What I Wore: Austin City Limits 2016

For the second year in a row I, and about 23,000 other people, headed over to Zilker Park in Austin for a weekend filled with great music, amazing eats, and an overall incredible music festival. With more than a 130 act lineup spanning the weekend, I had to make sure my outfits were comfortable enough to dance around in, but didn’t hold back my sense of style. After all, Texas Octobers can still reach mid-ninety degrees!

I’m happy to report that the flower crown trend has dramatically decreased even though that boho-chic, western style vibe is still going strong! Classic brands like Free People and For Love and Lemons brought the romantic bohemian pieces while on-the-rise brands like Nasty Gal and Gypsy Warrior provided bolder and edgier accessories (think chokers & reflective sunglasses).

I wore some crazy tall boots with one of my outfits and they acted like my statement piece on Friday. Surprisingly they were insanely comfortable to walk around in. No heel= no pain!

Metallic tattoos were back in full swing this year, because who actually wants to wear a bunch of heavy jewelry in the hot sun? I got bold with it, decking out my hands and even legs! I opted for other light accessories too such as dainty layered necklaces and statement belts as I really wanted the focus to be on my clothes.

Saturday’s outfit was definitely my favorite of the weekend simply because of how comfortable it was. For me, all the little details of the outfit truly pulled together the whole look. From the fringe on my shoes, stackable rings, cold-shoulder top and floral head wrap, I was in “hippie heaven”. img_0441

Side note: one of the greatest things about ACL is the food. With over thirty vendors to choose from, Austin delivered the hippest food around! My favorites were these spicy kimchi fries, fruit punch made with freshly cut fruit, and this “mighty cone” featuring my overexcited premature bite.img_0296img_0302
