What I Wore: Austin City Limits 2017

I love going to ACL every year and this year was no exception! Even though it got to be almost unbearably hot midday every day, the experience did not disappoint at all. The festival had lots of changes this year; from extra entrances into the festival, many more “Insta-worthy” photo opportunities, plenty of shaded areas and even an extra stage!

With the changes in this Austin festival setting, I was in the mood to switch up my look for the weekend. Throwing all of my “playing it safe” cards out the window I wanted to show off my current style obsessions while keeping cool in the Texas heat.

Day 1:

Romper + Fringe Belt = unexpected twist on an easy outfit. Friday was my travel day so I knew I needed something a bit more low maintenance so I could get ready and go to the festival as quickly as possible! It’s a well-known theory of mine that any outfit can look 200x better with the right type of accessories…so I decided to stick to my guns and take my own advice. The open back of this romper helped keep me cool while I danced the night away and the belt helped keep the more-simple outfit looking interesting all night.

Day 2:

Guess what? I love stars. Can you tell? This mesh kimono was EVERYTHING I ever wanted and I’m in dire need of an excuse to wear it again. I didn’t want to be too scandalous so I opted for some black hotpants (which honestly just looked like super high-waisted shorts on me) and a lacy bralette to wear underneath. I was scared that my 5’3″ frame couldn’t handle such a long kimono so I paired it with some mega platform rose-gold shoes. Star patterned of course. They ended up being one of the best decisions I could have made because I got a little bit of a height boost in the crowd when watching some of my favorite performers! I completed the look with tons of highlighter all over my body (thanks to Rihanna’s TROPHY WIFE) and a star necklace that was made out of wire but was surprisingly light! I received so many compliments that day on this outfit but I honestly think the most attractive thing about myself that day was my confidence. I haven’t felt that carefree and bold in a long time and I think my smile was ear-to-ear from sunrise to sundown!

Until next time ACL! xx.
